Warwickshire College Open Day 2004
Went to pick Dave up (Jon couldn't attend this event) and arrived at the event site
shortly before 9am, we were one of the first team there. All day we were operating with only
whiteboard fights and CBF and PLF(Havoc Hunter) were our robots. CBF went in first with Scorpian
jnr, Dizzy Tilly and Pushabilitilly. Scoprian won the fight inflicting
quite a lot of damage to the others including CBF which eventually lost drive. Closer insection
revealled most of the chassis had been bent slightly, a lot in some places. CBF and PLF were in
the next fight with most of the feathers including Stiff Breeze and Rush Job (the college's
featherweight). Again Scorpian won causing CBF more damage mainly to the armour this time but
also to the chassis. A problem with the drive was that some of the bearings kept falling out as
they had not been glued in strongly enough. CBF had 2 more fights and although didn't win kept
going all day until in the last fight my Rx switch was taken out by G3. PLF was 3 more fights and
suffered minimal damage even though Dave wanted it to suffer as much as possible. At the end CBF
was a state, all the armour was falling off and most of the chassis bent, dented or torn. It
will need stripping right down and hammering back into shape.
