Leap Day Robot Show, Guild Hall Preston 2004
Firstly I need to say a big thank you to Steph and Phil for getting me to the event and
acting as by team members for the day, cheers guys. We arrived at the guild hall just after 10am, we checked in
and dumped the robot and kit and headed for something to eat as we all missed breakfast. After
McDonalds we went back to the event and had the tech check, which was passed with flying colours.
After a few heavyweight fights the first round of feathers went in, unfortunatly I had forgotten
to reconnect the reciever battery after checking over the robot for the tech check, so I missed the
first fight which was for the trophy. After the break in the sessions the league fights started,
I was drawn in the first heat against, Cutlet, Rampage2, Alpha and I can't remember the rest (sorry).
Things were going well and I was able to push most of the others around quite easily, but half way
through I dropped a chain. Although I was still mobile when rampage lifted my good wheels off the
floor I had no chance and was deposited in the pit. I put this down to bad construction, bad driving
and good driving by James (Rampage). Another great event from Roaming Robots. Just need to iron out a
few problems for next weeks featherweight smash (the biggi).
