Archive 23/09/05 - 31/12/06

  • 13/11/06 - DB5 got to the semi final of the Winter Tour without any weapon, I should have a lifter and the new drum done by the end of the year, if not the first event of next year.
  • 08/11/06 - Breaking up with my girlfriend has meant that feather plans have changed, SW has now retired and a new DB5 has been created and is through to the finals of the Winter Tour, which is a bit of a surprise.

  • 12/05/06 - Vantec arrived today so worked until midnight setting it up, rewiring and mounting it in SW.
  • 10/05/06 - Did some work on SW in the evening cut down the old base plate that will probably get used this weekend. Also got news that my new speedo will be here on Friday, so I should get it fitted in time for Sunday.
  • 06/05/06 - Showed of the feathers to the Techno Club although neither were working, contined on the mods to SW in the afternoon.
  • 05/05/06 - Did some work on SW at work and assembled it even if only in temp form so I can show it off at the Techno Club tomorrow will Take DB5 also either though its not working either.
  • 03/05/06 - Technobots order arrived.

  • 29/04/06 - Worked on SW some more got two of the new side pannels done which means the LHS is nearly finished.
  • 28/04/06 - Spent some time at work modifying the existing chassis plates that need to be for the new speedo. In the evening did some more work on SW and finished the astro mods and nearly finished the left side motor plate. Also sorted out some box section for Josh Valman, who is currently building a featherweight.
  • 27/04/06 - Started modifying the astroflight assembly ready for the new speedo.
  • 22/04/06 - Did some work to modify SW for a new speed controller which I also ordered today.
  • 17/04/06 - Did some thinking and need better control in SW so will be getting a better speed controller before the next event. Also DB5 will be out of action for a while until I have time for a compete refit and to make it absolutely spinner proof.
  • 16/04/06 - Second day of the Robot Rumble
  • 15/04/06 - First day of the Robot Rumble.
  • 07/04/06 - Started working on a long list of things that I need to do before the next event in a weeks time.
  • 01/04/06 - Worcester Event - Report - SW had 2 fights did quite well.

  • 30/03/06 - Mounted the astro in SW properly, put a chain on, wired up and tested. I was very impressed, the chain needs tensioning a bit but can put the finishing touches to it tomorrow.
  • 28/03/06 - Thought I'd better get round to working on the robot as the next event is only 4 days away, worked on the astro mounts and controller. Also got a new arial mounted and the correct xtal in the robot.
  • 24/03/06 - Spent a couple of hours at work using working on bits for Secret weapon.
  • 23/03/06 - Well I didn't get in the workshop 2 weeks ago, but I did tonight realising that the next event is only a week away. Worked on strengthening the chassis, axle stops, and revised weapon mounts that should get finished at work tomorrow (all on SW).
  • 18/03/06 - Missed Magna again! but completed the chase walk again 40mile walk in 15 hours.
  • 07/03/06 - Worked on finalising the design of the weapon on CAD, just the final details, hope to get in the workshop tomorrow.

  • 19/02/06 - Second day of Brighton Model World - Report
  • 18/02/06 - Took DB5 and Secret Weapon to Brighton Model world - See Event Report
  • 17/02/06 - Finished work at 12 so I could try to get Sw ready for the event at the weekend managed to get most of it done so, but took DB5 as well. Set off for the event in the evening.
  • 16/02/06 - Got more of the side panels of SW done and bolted together.
  • 15/02/06 - Got the speed controllers mounted, am giving up on getting the weapon ready for the weekend, basically because I won't be able to use it at this event and because I just don't have the time left.
  • 14/02/06 - Worked on the weapon mounts and wheels and gearboxes for Secret Weapon.

  • 10/02/06 - Am going to try to get SW ready for Brighton Model World next weekend, left it late again but haven't had much time recently.

  • 29/01/06 - DB5 dissapointed me this weekend, hopefully get Secret Weapon(SW) finished soon then can look to improving DB5.
  • 25/01/06 - A new year, with the first event of the new year coming up shorty I thought Id better update the website. I (Ed) have a new job which has severely limited my time so I have been concentrating of Turbulence and a new featherweight called Secret Weapon. But this is a long way from being finished. But DB5 is still ok and will be at Leicester this weekend. New Years resolution number 4 - keep the web site up to date!

  • 09/11/05 - Finished off tiding and organising the workshop better.
  • 07/11/05 - Stowed away all the tools and robot bits from Sunday's event continued tidying the workshop, only one corner left,
  • 04/11/05 - Did some more work on DB5 and had a large tidy up of the workshop moving some stuff out to make room for new stuff which ive ordered today.
  • 02/11/05 - Did a lot on DB5 today, sorted out the damaged motor and reassembled most of the robot. I also started working on some new armour.

  • 31/10/05 - DB5 has suffered a bit of damage including a smashed motor from the weekend, but it will be repaired. There are already a few events on the calendar for next year so Im going to build a second featherweight which will be a lot better than anything we've done before.
  • 30/10/05 - Second day of the XFM event in Colchester - Report.
  • 29/10/05 - First day of the XFM event in Colchester - Report.
  • 27/10/05 - Continued repairing the damage from LS2, this includes a new drive shaft and new base plate. Also some of next years events have been released so Im planning a new feather as a pure competition feather, DB5 will be kept as a messaround robot.
  • 26/10/05 - Having done no work on DB5 for a while needed to start repairing damage from Macclesfield ready for the halloween event in Colchester.
  • 12/10/05 - Started disassembleing DB5, made a long list of things to do and ordered some rubber sheet as all my armour will now be rubber mounted in a vain attempt to defend against these spinners.
  • 11/10/05 - Ordered an Astroflight motor wil increase the speed of the weapon 3 fold at least.
  • 10/10/05 - Nothing really done today wanted to work on DB5 but got stuck on the internet.
  • 09/10/05 - Second day of the Portsmouth event of the winter tour 2005, Report.
  • 08/10/05 - First day of the Portsmouth event of the winter tour 2005, Report.
  • 26/09/05 - Took the drum down to AJH Services to get the teeth done.
  • 25/09/05 - Drilled over 100 holes in the ally chassis of DB5.
  • 23/09/05 - Painted and reattached some armour, soldered some more connectors on but ran out of solder.
