SaturdayAs usual now, picked Dave and Becki up in the early afternoon this time as the event was quite local. Got there and set up a bench had tech check and waited for the first fights. Turbulence went in quite early on, against Behemoth and Pressure. It was the competition fight so we had to do well but we lost the flipper as a pipe blew off during arming up, so we had no weapon. Pressure were having major speed controller problems so didn't really get out of the blocks. We managed to avoid behemoth's flipper for a while, but they have more power and we were defenceless really. They turned us over, we ended up in the pit and were out. Not the start to the weekend we were hoping for. But before things got better they got worse, DB5 also got knocked out of the featherweight competition, due to me forgeting to attach the aerial. So I had very limited control during the fight, having said that I probably would have lost anyway. After the show before going to the hotel, we tested Turbulence in the arena and got the pneumatics working very well. We had dinner with specical guest at our table (Shane - Team Tilly), before heading to McDonalds for a mcFlurry. Then Bed. SundayTurbulence's first fight on Sunday was with the Beast, Pressure and Tilly. Things went very well from the start with Turbulence able to get under everyone and flip them at will. We were very surpirsed when we flipped Pressure out of the arena and through the doors, sorry about that Pete and Dave took you by surprise I think. We won the fight with a victory spin. DB5 also had some more fights doing better, but losing power in one and ending up on the arena flipper and thrown accross the arena, not for the first time its getting quite regular now. It lost a chain and I didn't bother repairing it for the rest of the day. Turbulence had two more fights, the first we lost due to a missfireing flipper. The second we won beating Tanto amongst others. A very successful weekend for us and a great event overall, thanks to Team Mad for organising, will attend their next for sure. And Roaming Robots for crewing. |
