RR:Kettering at Wickstead Park 2005
Saturday
Dave, Becky (Dave's other half) and Ed attended with Turbulence and DB5. We went down on Friday night after work and camped over. Saturday morning
was spend unloading and building DB5 as most of the previous days had been spent on Turbulence. DB5 only managed one fight all weekend and for a while it
did quite well, the drive system improvements had clearly worked. Turbulence then had its first ever fight even if it went in weaponless as some more work
is still needed on the mechanics of the flipper. This fight was against Scorpian, Ka-pow! and Ripper, we ended up on our back and couldn't self right. Turbulence's
second fight was against Stratos-Fear (aka Dave) and we ended up being flipped out of the arena. Saturday night was spent talking, drinking and eating.
Apart from the weather it was a very good day.
Sunday
Decided to sleeping the car last night as my tent had been flooded. Finished charging Turbulence's batteries first thing. Some more robots arrived
including Terrorhurtz. Turbulence had one more fight today against Stratos-Fear and Weird Alice, which we probably won on aggression. The highlights of the
day were the two Terrorhurtz fights, in which the first the axe head got damaged, in the second the shaft snapped off completley in a fight against Beast.
Craig (who was driving Beast at the time) was very pleased with his efforts.
