RR:Kettering at Wickstead Park

Saturday

Jon picked me up at about 8.30am, Jon driving gave me a welcome weekend off. We took CBF(Featherweight) and Turbulence(Heavyweight) We arrived and set up shop next to Storm II. During Saturday CBF had 4 fights and Ed drove the first three and Jon drove in the fourth. The first fight was against Rampage, Alpha and G3 Alpha had a drive problem which meant that it stripped one side's gears and was out for the weekend. Rampage became grounded and CBF was left to push G3 all around the arena. CBF won on a judge's decision.
The second fight involved Lev2, Cutlet, Rampage, G3 and Pushabilitilly. Rampage won this one. The third fight involved the same feathers and G3 won if I remember correctly. Both of these fights ended with CBF in the pit one from bad driving and on the other occasion Rampage dumped me in. In the fourth fight Rampage won again with CBF a close second the first of the weekend dubious decisions.
In between the featherweight fights while the next audience were getting ready we drove Turbulence around properly for the first time. We were all very impressed and took turns with the driving although Dave is the main driver.

Sunday

We didn't get up too early but still in plenty of time for the first fight. In the first fight I let Shane from Dizzy Tilly drive and he did very well after helping G3 turn over Minimoth he proceeded to imobilize G3 and began pushing Lev2 around the arena. Next came a very contoversial judge's decision as Lev2 won. But he did get a few flips in towards the end of the fight. The second fight Ed took back the controls which was probably a mistake, I was doing well until the Rx switch got turned off and the robot died. In the last fight Dave drove but the main batteries died this time which was not the best thing when Storm II is the house robot. Storm picked us up and dumped CBF onto the arena flipper. Eventually Scrappy won the fight, which was very good as this was it's first outing. Scrappy being the featherweight version of Scrap Dragon. Another very enjoyable event even if it was a bit cold, luckily the rain held off untill the last fight of Sunday.
